Greetings from the Editorial Office of Translational Gastroenterology and Hepatology (TGH)!

We’re glad to present the 2025 Annual Report of TGH. The newly released Impact Factor of TGH is 2.5.

We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to our editorial board members, reviewers, authors and readers. We wish you a happy, healthy and prosperous 2026 and we look forward to working with you to continue the success of TGH.

Congratulations on Jiafu Ji being elected as an academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering

On November 21, 2025, the results of the 2025 academician elections for China's two highest academic institutions—the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) and the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS)—were announced. The CAE elected 100 new academicians, and the CAS elected 95 new academicians. Academician status in the CAE and CAS represents the highest lifelong honor in the fields of engineering and science in China. New academicians are elected every two years through a rigorous multi‑round selection process.

Translational Gastroenterology and Hepatology Adopts Bimonthly Frequency from January 2026

To better serve the global community and accommodate a rising volume of high-quality submissions, Translational Gastroenterology and Hepatology will transition from quarterly to bimonthly publication, effective January 2026. The regular publication months will be January, March, May, July, September, November.

This strategic decision underscores the journal's rapid growth and influence since its launch in March 2016. The increased frequency is a direct response to the sustained support from authors and the academic community, ensuring that pivotal, practice-changing research reaches readers and practitioners with minimal delay after acceptance.

AME and Wolters Kluwer aim to expand access to global medical research through new collaboration

The agreement broadens the reach of nearly 50 Open Access titles, contributing globally to over 5,000 articles

October 2, 2025 — Wolters Kluwer Health announced a new collaboration with AME Publishing Company, an Open Access publisher specializing in medical journals and books, headquartered in Hong Kong, China.

New Impact Factor for Translational Gastroenterology and Hepatology: 2.5

We are pleased to announce that the Translational Gastroenterology and Hepatology (TGH) has attained its latest impact factor update for the 2024 citation year: 2.5 (Figure 1).

Translational Gastroenterology and Hepatology 2024 CiteScore Released: 5.6

We are pleased to announce that the Translational Gastroenterology and Hepatology (TGH) has achieved its 2024 CiteScore: 5.6, ranking 41 out of 173 journals in the Gastroenterology category and 30 out of 87 journals in the Hepatology category. This milestone underscores our ongoing commitment to publishing impactful research in the field.

Reviewer of the Month (2026)

In 2026, TGH reviewers continue to make outstanding contributions to the peer review process. They demonstrated professional effort and enthusiasm in their reviews and provided comments that genuinely help the authors to enhance their work.

Starting from July 2021, AME Publishing Company is formally recognized a publisher member of Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and over 60 AME-published journals become a member of Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), as part of AME’s commitment to best practice in scholarly publishing. Translational Gastroenterology and Hepatology (TGH) is among the list of COPE membership.

AME entered an official partnership with Publons to enhance wide-ranging recognition for reviewers

AME Publishing Company entered an official partnership with Publons, a product of Clarivate Analytic Company (which owns Web of Science, EndNote, ScholarOne, among many others), as of April 2020. Around 60 AME journals’ peer review systems are now integrated seamlessly into the Publons platform (https://publons.com/about/home). The partnership was done to recognize our expert peer reviewers spontaneously for their review contribution.

Implementation of transparent peer review at Translational Gastroenterology and Hepatology

With a commitment to openness and accountability, and to increase the level of transparency throughout our peer review process, our editorial office has decided to implement a transparent peer review process as an option for all manuscripts submitted to TGH from March 19, 2020.
