Binu John is Associate Professor at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and Associate Chief of Medicine, Chief of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the Miami VA Medical Center and lead for the VISN 8 GI Community of Practice. He is a board certified Transplant Hepatologist and Gastroenterologist with clinical and research interests in hepatocellular carcinoma (liver cancer), primary biliary cholangitis, portal hypertension and COVID-19 and liver disease. He serves as the director of the VA Cooperative Studies Program -Network of Dedicated Enrollment Sites (CSP-NODES) at the Miami VA. Dr. John is a site principal investigator in numerous studies related to liver cancer (federal and industry funded) in the field of biomarker development as well as Phase 1 to phase 4 clinical trials. He has over 80 publications in leading journals including Nature, JAMA Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and the Journal of Hepatology.
